I was just looking at Lower receiver markings gallery and noticed that the LMT lower pictured inspection tag was in the picture. The lower serial number is 30202 an dthe tag is dated 5-3-04.

I have 3 LMT lowers below 30080. My inspection tags are dated 10-26-04. Whats up with that?

Just a guess but here is what I would assume...

The lowers are made in batches of "x" number and then sent to a different part of the plant for assembly. I would seriously doubt any effort would be made to assemble them in order based on serial #.

That lower is mine.

I have two checked on 5-3-04

LMT30202 and LMT30161.  The order they do it in is beyond me.

Not to hijack this thread but get this - I had a Bushmaster lower that was S/N L0013XX that was made one month prior to the 1994 AW ban going into effect and shipped as a stripped lower the day after the law kicked in.   By then, they were already up to L057XXX, who'd have thought this was not a preban?  My luck had it that it was a postban despite the extremely low serial number.
I asked Bushmaster about this and they stated they have S/N blocks assigned, and none of these batches are required to be done in sequential order.
