Search is down, so I don't feel so bad about asking.

There are two lengths of uppers available, right?
What is the shortest barrel that will fit in the long upper?
Aside from looking funny, is there any reason you can't use the longest (18"?) barrel in the shorter upper?
If I'm going to spend all that jack, I want to make the right decisions.
Does anyone have pics of all the different upper/barrel length combos?

yes, carbine and rifle

i believe it's the 14.5" one

nope, it'll fit, but the gas block will be exposed

TWO LENGTHS. CARBINE AND RIFLE.

THE CARBINE LENGTH IS ABOUT AS LONG AS A RECEIVER WITH A DANIEL DEFENSE 9.0 FOREND. IT IS JUST THE CORRECT LENGTH TO COMPLETELY ENCLOSE A MID-LENGTH GAS SYSTEM. SO, EVEN THE 16" AND 18" BARRELS CAN BE USED WITH THE SHORTER CARBINE LENGTH MRP.

CARBINE LENGTH MRP WITH 14.5" BARREL. BETCHA DIDN'T KNOW THEY MADE THESE IN MATCH GRADE STAINLESS IN 14.5"!!!

THE RIFLE LENGTH IS ABOUT AS LONG AS A RECEIVER WITH A RIFLE LENGTH FREE FLOATING FOREND, PLUS HALF AN INCH. THE SHORTEST BARREL THAT WILL READILY WORK WITH IT IS THE 14.5".
