Do you guys think it is really worth it to pay a premium for the new LMT SOPMOD gen II with the qd swivel attatchment?? Or would you just get the gen I and pay less? I'm currently faced with this dilemna..... I have read that you can actually get an adapter for the Gen I so you can attatch a sling. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated |

It depends on what your sling setup is. I don't really like having a sling attached to me stock. I agree. Also, does it have to be a Sopmod? I have a Vltor that gives a great cheek weld, has storage for batteries and what not, comes standard with a sling swivel and cost half as much. You should look into it. ps. And I have a beard and no it doesnt get caught in it contrary top popular belief |
| Personally I like the quick detach on my Gen2 stocks. You could buy a Gen1 on the cheap, and then get the adapter. I saw them on here a while ago, it screws to the stock and essentilly makes it very similar to the Gen2. Not sure who made them or was selling them, but they were inexpensive. It may have been Gear Sector?? Somebody should know what I am talking about and be able to lead you in the right direction. Like I said, I love the Gen2, but I'm not sure I would buy one new for $200. One came on a complete rifle, and one came on a lower I bought, otherwise I may not own them,.. |

Gear Sector carries an adaptor as well.

In fact, I'm not even running an Aimpoint at the moment. |
