Just got a new LMT Sopmod and put it on my rifle. It is very tight. Is this normal?

Yep....Both mine are very snug. I like the tight fit personally.

Mine came with the M4
Nice and tight

It will loosen over time (if you actually shoot your rifle) to where there's some wobble. Still tighter than a standard M4 stock though.

I bought mine with a LMT tube and have had no issues, it slides normally on the tube and doesnt have any noticeable wobble or play after nearly 10k rounds.

Same here, tight as though it were new.  SOPMOD is top notch, like all LMT.

My Sopmods fit snugly as well....

Well, maybe mine's a fluke. I bought it from PK as a complete set (receiver extension, castle nut, endplate). I also have a second set that's rock solid but hasn't been shot yet. Either way my wobble isn't too noticeable.

Same here. Snug.

Mine is tight, I mean real tight. It takes some muscle to extend and collapse the stock. Its kind of annoying, not as smooth as my CTR.

Both of my SOPMODS are tight.

Tight is good, allowing for a consistant cheek weld

how does having a really hard to collapse and extend stock help my cheek weld?

Because most stocks rock to the left and right, which can cause eye relief issues.

The LOP pretty much only gets changed with the seasons.  YMMV

As mentioned. SOPMODs are snug fitting.
What kind of buffertube do you have?
SOPMODS require a mil-spec and you might have a commercial.

Link to difference in buffer tubes.

Yes my M does V. I use different stock positions all the time depending on if I'm shooting offhand, prone or benched. Side to side play does not bother me even with really loose stocks

Very tight here as well.  I could literally pick up my SBR but the stock, depress the adjustment lever and the gun would not move.  I'm sure with a little use that will change...  For the new owner...

I must be the only one on the planet that doesn't really care for the SOPMOD...  The wide, sloped design felt like it was pushing me away from my cheek weld...  CTR on the SBR works well for me and a Emod, dang near as wide as the SOPMOD, on my long range rig...

I never compared the two, but maybe the SOPMOD is "flatter" than the Emod?    Don't really know...
