For the love of god, please help me!

I just got an LMT Defender 2000 lower with the 2-stage trigger already installed.  I noticed that the selector lever sticks out too far on the right side (the side with the fire/safe indicator, not the switch).

I did the function check where you cock the hammer back, put on safe, then squeeze trigger, and while holding the trigger pull back on the charging handle, *guide* it forward, then release the trigger and you should hear a metallic sound.  The sound I hear is different from the one I hear in my carbine with a normal trigger, instead of a "thud" like it should sound (I think) I hear a little "clack".  I did this the first time just now, I have never fired the rifle before.

Then after I do that, I cock the hammer back again, and then normally just dry fire it, and the trigger pull now feels much worse during the "1st stage", it feels much more stiff, and I notice that whenver I am pulling the trigger to dry fire it the pin in receiver closest to the handguard/trigger moves around!  I have dry fired it about 3 times (I have the upper on it BTW) and it feels like shit!  I know because when I first got it I dry fired it once and it felt amazing, and I used the same upper.

What the fuck have I done!?

Oh yeah and the upper has an LMT enhanced B/BC group, if it matters.

Shit

First, take the safety out and see if there's still a problem.  If the trigger works fine without the safety in then you need to inspect the safety further, maybe its defective.  If you have an nother AR or extra safety lying around slap one of those in.

Also, Make sure the hammer and trigger pins are fully seated, slim chance that this is the problem but worth noting.

If not its time to get to know your rifle!  Yank out the trigger and give it a good looking over.

ETA, its normal for the hammer pin to spin.
