| I looked at a 20" A2 in a local shop today. The lower was marked LRB M-15SA and the barrel was marked 5.56 NATO 1-9 with no other visible markings (on the barrel, which appeared to be chrome-lined midweight profile. Anyone know anything about these? Quality looked decent. |
| Sounds like someone other than the factory assembled it. That opens up room for alot of questions on both the quality of the parts (besides the lower) and the skills of the one who assembled it. Its kind of like a "mystery" rifle. The lower should be fine though. |

Last I looked, LRB does not sell a complete AR15. They sell complete lowers with A2 or with collapsible stocks. So it is hard to say who built that AR and what was used. Personally I would not buy it. If you are going to build your own, I would recommend the LRB lower. I have 2 of them and they are GTG!!!!!!!!!! |
Don't pass it up so fast. Look it over, You already stated it had one good feature, a chrome lined midweight barrel! Is the front sight base connected to the barrel the proper way with taper pins? Is the Bolt carrier Key staked properly? Is the interior of the bolt carrier (Where the bolt goes) chrome lined? Is the bolt marked MP (for magnetic particle inspected)? Are there any markings on any of the fire control group parts? Are the hand guards metal lined? When you pull back on & release the charging handle does everything feel nice & smooth? Is the price right??? Have you Purchased from the gun store in the past & have they been a good place to buy? Do they have a good rep? Good luck with your decision!! |
