As I have posted a few times, Im looking to get a LR-243. I found one at a local shop, but it is $2000 and I'm not going to buy that for that price.

I now have two options that I'm really looking at, a R-25 or a LR-243 off of gunbroker.

R-25
Pros

  • Local

  • Reasonable Price

Cons

  • Black 308 Upper would look silly on it

  • Can't modify without getting custom paint, and will devalue it

LR-243
Pros

  • Exactly what im looking for

  • Can be modified

  • Black 308 upper would look stock on it

  • GREAT price on gunbroker

Cons

  • Is not Local

  • Its lots of money, I don't want to fall into a scam

What would you guys say? Should I go with the R-25 which is around MSRP, being $1500, or should I go with the LR-243 on gun broker for $1050 shipped?

When it comes to getting a gun like this off of gun broker, it is a lot of money to lose. I don't want to fall into a scam at all, and not get my money back. Do you know any ways to help ease my fear of that on the web? How can I tell if someone is a good seller or not? Im looking at this auction, ––> Click here! <–– Has anyone bought anything from this guy (The Kentucky Gun Co.)? Is he a good seller? All of his feedback sounds like he is a great person to do business with, but I'm still weary to weather or not he is a good seller.

Thanks, Mattman2010
