So I've read that the infamous "TWANG" is a normal noise in ARs, however I have noticed that my LWRC has much much less spring noise than my noveske. To be thorough, my LWRC was brand new and my noveske was assembled with the upper purchased seperately and a lower with a VLTOR emod stock. Is there something specific in the parts used by LWRC that I can get to my noveske has the same minimized spring noise? Can someone who has an LWRC and a standard AR be able to comment on this?

I used to use this until I got this. When I used the first one I didn't have any noise at all. I haven't tested the second one but I'm going to the range today so I will see how it does compared to the other buffer.
As for the noise with the spring I can't help you there but I'm going to assume if you want to get rid of it the best thing to do would be to buy a new spring I would imagine. But I'm new at this so I don't have the best advice.

I don't think it has to do with it being an LWRC. I think it has to do with the LWRC being a piston.
My LMT Piston rifle doesn't make much of any twang noise. All DI ARs that I've shot have had not only a pronounced buffer spring twang, but I could also hear the gas rushing up the gas tube (I'm not kidding!). Welp got back from the range and the combination of the stock I use, the muzzle break, and the hydraulic arrestor my AR has very little felt recoil. My build should be finished within the next week and I will be posting pics and a part list of everything I did. |
