My recently rekindled interest in black rifles has had me scouring the forums for info on mounting my soon to be acquired Aimpoint to my new DPMS M4 (generous gift from my newly married oldest son). I've pretty much decided LaRue is the way I intend to go for the Aimpoint. Question, sometime soon I also intend to replace the Leupold rings and bases on my REM-700 PSS with something a bit more reliable, Badger Ordnance M4 style rings/bases had been my intended choice. However, now I am wondering about a LaRue integral rinig/base lever-lock setup on top of a Rem-700 compatible piccatiny rail so I could do away with the need for the torque wrench for the Badger rings. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup for a long-range rifle scope. My scope on this rifle is a Leupold 3.5-10 LR Tactical M3. I have shot this rifle many many times at sub 1/2 moa and don't want to lose any of this accuracy or return to POI because of the ring/base setup. Thanks in advance for any advice |

LaRue ring/mounts are quite tall. Most (not all) are 1.4" and higher. Not everyone would like it on a bolt rifle. That said I use low LaRue Aimpoint rings (1.12" high) as 30mm scope rings on a precision bolt rifle. They're very high quality and hold up just fine. |
