My normal response would be they are both good. Magpuls feed better than anything, but Lancers seem a little more durable than magpul. With that said, I recently made a bad decision of shooting a match with a brand new Lancer right out of the package and had major feeding issues. I haven't gotten around to examining the mag closer to see what the problem might be, but I was a bit disappointed from that. It was definitely magazine related. However, i suppose a lemon can sneak through the QC process at any company. |

Never been much non the Magpul bandwagon. I like alm gi okays. But I did try a gen3 magpul and well it didn’t like to drop free from all three of my rifles. I have a lancer 20 round and it’s been fine drops free no issues. I did measure the magpul width and noticed it was a hair wider than my lancer and My okays. |

I had one Lancer that was defective out of the bag over a decade ago. They sent me two replacements, and a bunch of FDE baseplates to use on my smoke mags for free after I asked to buy them. I’ve had 4 or 5 M2’s break after tons of use. Didn’t bother reaching out because I more than got my money out of them. I’ve had 6 of 10 last gen 308 PMAG’s that the followers were sticking on. Magpul told me to lubricate the inside of the mag bodies before shooting. I’ve had no issues with the new 308 PMAG’s or Lancer’s 308 magazines. I’ve had no issues with Lancer magazines beyond that one fluke, and no issues with M3’s. I like Lancers by a smidge because they’re lower profile and more durable. Get both though. In fact, buy all the different kinds of mags you can and see for yourself. |

you can't really go wrong either way. I prefer Lancers as I prefer the steel lips and the translucent magazine bodies. I also prefer the smaller magazine body and same dimension floor plate. I dont like pMags fat floor plate, as magazine stacking isn't as good, and when shooting prone from a sling I don't like it as much as the Lancer. As to Durability, in general the Lancer is the more abuse tolerant - steel lips. If I'm willing to accept a fat floorplate, Honestly I prefer ETS to PMag. they're actually pretty good mags, clear, and the reason the round stacking is reversed is because it's better. That works better going under a closed bolt. It has to do with the latch cut cantileraing based on the top round orientation, and the ETS are the only mags to actually get that right . |

Is there any news of Gen 2 for 300 BLK? I saw they disappeared from the Lancer Systems website, apparently about a month ago. Had been "coming soon" and listed just like the 5.56 Gen 2. I use Lancers for all my 300 BLK stuff, vs USGI and Pmag for 5.56. |

I have in my mag stash now approaching 100 magazines a mixed bag of Lancer's, Gen 3 PMags, and D&H Aluminum mags. In 10 rd - Lancers (only 2 mags used for load development), 20 Rd - Lancers, Gen 3 Pmags & D&H, and 30 Rd - Gen 3 Pmags and D&H. They all fine work in my rifles. YMMV |

there is only one answer....buy a crap ton of BOTH. I have lancers, I have a metric crap ton of OKAY and D&H mags...I also have more Pmags than I care to admit. they all work, never had a problem with any of the 3 big players (well 4 really).... honestly, don't overthink it. as long as they're good reputable mags buy what you like. better yet, buy multiple of each because you never know when you're going to have a gun that is mag brand sensitive |

I’ve got about 35 Magpul gen 3 Pmags in a box that I train with weekly Typically get loaded up immediately following training so they are ready to go The top 10-12 get used the most since a typical training session for me is 200-300 rounds I’ve been doing it this way for 5-6 years now and no malfunctions or wear that I see I’ve got plenty of Lancers, Tango Down and GI mags but always gravitate back to Magpul. Malfunctions are extremely rare for me but using quality guns and ammo is a factor. These mags have seen tens of thousands of rounds so when/if they need replaced I’ll feel I got my monies worth Attached File |
