I don't know how well they function but I just saw one run over by a Hummer and it appears to be OK.

I am suppose attend a range demo tomorrow and see if that mag still works.

Mine have functioned perfectly. I have only used them in Colt rifles. They are very durable. Lancer has done a great job of developing a quality product and their customer service is top notch.

It's difficult for me to compare them to a Pmag. You really need to handle and use one side by side with a Pmag. I like the fact I can use my old school Magpuls on the L5. I also like that the L5 is closer is size to a USGI mag than a Pmag.

Magpul set the bar pretty high and Lancer is doing what they need to to compete.

Both the Pmag and L5 are light years ahead of the Thermold and Orlites of yesteryear. The translucent aspect of the L5 gives it a big plus. The steel feed lips are more durable than I expected. In fact, I have not been able to deform the feedlips.

We will see more innovative products from Lancer in the future.

Sounds great!  Can the green follower be replaced with a Magpul one?

Negative. A Magpul one can be modified to work. I have done it and I do not think it's worth doing as the L5 follower works well.

Greg,

I made the link hot.

BTW, Lancer magazines are a good product.  If you want them, get them from Anchor.

When you said "spokesmodel" I was expecting a hot chick picking up an abused Lancer mag, jamming it into a full auto M4, and letting it rip!  The hair leg took me off gaurd.  It looks like Lancer may have the answer to the Pmag.  Only range  time will tell.

I have not been able to deform the feed lips during loaded drop testing from 7' or normal use / abuse.

Channel locks may work. I'd have better luck with the 10 ton press.
