I just spoke for a Larue LT799 on the E.E. Because I wanted to get rid of the two big knobs on my TA31. I see very little mentioned about these online, can someone fill me in?
What’s different about it from the LT622 or LT100? Levers on the opposite side, height, length?

I won’t be using it for QD, I just wanted a slimmer profile, and the ability to remove the TA-31 without tools if I needed to.  Thanks!

The LT622 and LT622 SDO-A are "identical" to the LT100, with two differences.  The levers are on the right, and there are 5 mounting holes, instead of 2.

The LT799 is the same as the LT622, but it has 2 rail lugs, instead of one.

I prefer either to the LT100 myself, as I prefer the levers to be on the right, and it allows more flexible mounting options with a KRAM.

Awesome info, thank you for taking the time to explain that! I never noticed the dual lugs. Hope this helps someone in the future as well.

The LT799 are my go-to now - very well made, best side for levers, dual lugs, and light weight. Plus, you can find them fairly cheap on eBay.

This.  I have a 622 sitting in a box, as it has been replaced with a 799.  Should build another rifle to utilize that 622...

I don't see the LT799 in the ACOG mount options. Discontinued?

I’m just happy I got a good mount, usually when I purchase something and can’t find any info about it, I find an obscure 14 year old forum link and it states “That part will only fit left hand post hole diggers sourced from India that were manufactured between October and November 1973.”

Larue never sold the LT622 / 622SDO-A / 799 publically directly, only the LT100.  The LT799 comes bundled with one of the ACOG models (forget which), and the LT622 only went to the military (marines?).

Thanks for the explanation. Finding a quality ACOG QR or regular mount with more than one recoil lug is hens teeth right now.

Yup, I can't remember which ACOG, but the new VCOG SCO (Marine variant) comes with the LT799 too.

Never had a problem with the LT100.
Not sure why a NTCH shooter would want anything else.

I believe the new VCOG comes with a LT799 C.A.N. mount.

Because of KRAMs (to mount the ACOG further back than the rearmost slot supports, or when a BUIS is behind it, or you want the optic higher):

And Browes (which supports both ACOG spacing and Browe spacing on the mounting holes):

Or both:

I'd like to try a Browe prism someday, but man their asking prices depending on options is even more prouder than what Trijicon charges

What's the C.A.N. stand for? I couldn't find any outward differences when I looked at the two. I did find some interesting info on the LT799 though : https://www.bidlink.net/news/2020/11/dla-competition-lt799-sight-mount-173527-annual-sales/

The adjustable tension nuts can be manipulated with your fingers vs. a wrench.

Click adjust nuts, I believe? Finger adjustable tension for the locking levers that way.

I just got my LT799 today, it’s just what I needed. Acog fits much more snugly in the mount so it’s less reliant on the screws, it has multiple mounting holes so you can adjust the Acog beyond the 1913 slots, and the right side levers are much lower profile than the brass deflector or forward assist.

I used the “standard” mounting holes on my A4, which moved the TA-31 back about 3/8”, so the eye relief is perfect for me now. I mounted a GG&G flip up A2 sight in front of the Acog, in the unlikely event it ever fails, or I remove it for some reason the rifle is still usable. Very happy with the small change.

I have a few 799s and like them, but I also just picked up a new 622SDO-A from the EE to compare. Did the 799 replace the 622? I assume yes given the 799 has the dual lugs which to me is an “upgrade” vs. the 622.

Yes, from what I’ve gathered here from helpful members. This is the definitive LT799 resource in the western hemisphere :P
