I am left handed and I shoot left handed.  What products out there are designed for us left handers?

I see the ambi charging handle and safeties, but thats about all i found.  Will the BAD Lever help a lefty? Is there a lefty mag release setup?
Are there companies that make left handed lowers and uppers and does that need a new BCG ? (so shells are not in ur face?

Any help, links or guidance is appreciated

THanks

I wouldn't bother with a stag lefty upper. Non standard parts could cause headaches later.

I like the raptor ambi charging handle, but I really want a bravo co ambi handle to try.

Some people really like the BAD. I don't personally use one

Norgon, Troy, and Knight's Armament make an ambi magazine release.

ETA I use the norgon, and have no problems with it.

Yeah i wouldn't go with a dedicated left handed upper.  I'm left handed and shoot left handed and built mine.  At the time i built my AR15, i got the Troy Ambi Safety and Mag Release and went with Badger Ordinance universal charging handle (As noted by earlier posts, the Rainer Rapter is good and Bravo Company just released their ambi Gunfighter)

I am a lefty the only thing I change is the safety.  The safety I prefer is from Olympic.  It is notched so you can insert it from either side.  Everythnig else is easy to learn.  Things like the BAD lever are an annoyance to me

You don't really need a true left hand rifle. I know their pricey, but KAC has a true ambi lower.  If you use your left hand to clear stoppages, you won't need an ambi charging handle. This method is described in Kyle Lambs book.  I'm lefty and think they're hard to,use because of  the forward assist being in the way. You don't need a bad lever either, just use your trigger finger to hit the bolt catch.

I'm a lefty, and use the Stag lefty uppers. Some folks don't mind if the brass ejects across their face. And I DON'T mean that sarcastically. If you shoot reloads, there is a better safety margin with a lefty upper (if you shoot left-handed) in case of a kaboom. Yes, they use non standard parts, so keep the normal replacements on hand just as you would for a right hand upper. Right now, getting lefty parts is actually easier than getting right handed ones. I just received 2 lefty BCGs, spare bolts and other parts from Stag. As far as a charging handle for a lefty, I like the TacOps1 charging handle when used under a scope. Most folks that poo-poo the tacops charging handle have NEVER used one. It works, especially for a lefty. When I put together my first lefty, I called everyone I could think of and posted queries on this forum asking if an "ambi" barrel extension was needed. The results were that 50% said use an ambi, 50% said not needed. Really. You can decide for your self.

So, did you use the ambi extension or not?

Thx

I'm a lefty and have built a bunch of ar's. The standard set up keeps brass out of your face due to the deflector behind the ejection port. I have Ambi safeties on some of my guns but I can use the standard safety by activating it with my trigger finger. The build I am working on right now I popped for a BAD ASS safety and really like it because it's ambi, but has a very positive "Click" from on to off.
The other option is I use a Bravo Company Mod 4 Medium Gunfighter charging handle on most of my guns. Even though the latch is on the left side it works well. The build I am working on now I went with their new ambi Gunfighter charging handle. It has latches on both side, but it also makes it bulkier. We'll see out it works out.
Mag release I never found it worth the high price they get for the Norgdon. Bad lever I think is more for the right handed and can cause problems with the bolt locking back.
My advice, buy a standard AR. Put a Bravo Gunfighter on it. and maybe a Bad ASS safety and go from there.

Three have ambi extensions. Two that I am putting together now probably won't. I want to get some rounds down range with the two that don't, and then get some bolt lug pics side by side with the ones that do. One of my barrels with an ambi extension is an 18" SPR WOA 1/7 that is sub moa if I don't drink 3 cups of coffee before leaving for the range

Ok,

All my weapons are as ambi as possible,..

Even us right handed left brain knuckle draggers should be able to shoot left...Practice...

So,

I use the badass ambi selector...
I use the raptor charging handle...
Easy to move magpul illumination tape switch housing...
Light mounted on bayonet lug at 6:00...
etc...

My theory is you never know who might need to use it...and at that time it's too late....

Wait bad guy....I need to change out this charging handle, then I'll get back to ventilating you... Ahhhh no!

Even as a lefty...go ambi...

I do use the b.a.d. Lever on all my builds...but if you don't want to use it you still have the paddle in the same place...but, it doesn't work much at all for a lefty...
