Hey I was wandering if you could make an 80% lower receiver or even a complete lower receiver could be made to fit a lefty.

Like a mirror image, or just ambi controls?

I thought left and right handed lowers were the same? I thought just the uppers were different? Maybe i'm wrong

Correct.

I see a problem with the Bolt catch, at least.

Offhand hits the mag release, trigger finger works the bolt catch and safety - I thought they were all left-handed!

You would know more than I would.  I was just wandering.  I've shot plenty of M4s and tinkered with the thought of building my own for a while.  I'm fixing to start on my first project.  I'm looking for the cheapest way to build my first one so any suggestions would definately help.  Figure if I screw it up it won't hurt so bad knowing it was cheap.  I was just wandering about the lefty thing for a future project.

80% lowers are NOT a "cheap way to build an AR".

Yeah I know, I'm going for a complete lower. I was just curious about it though.

Cheapest way would be to get a stripped lower locally, then get a kit or slowly accumulate the parts over time, as you find good deals here and there.

Got a POF 416 lower. Ambi everything built in.
