Hello all,
I am about to start a build of a left handed AR. Before I get to far into planning I'm wondering if someone can help me out, since this is the first upper I've built (not my first AR). When using a receiver that ejects to the left, do you have to use a certain type of barrel? Or will any barrel work? Probably a stupid question but I'd rather ask then buy the parts and not be able to get them together. I will be using a stag upper, and it will be an SBR. Thanks for any help. |
| well......I' kinda disagree......stag does make a left handed extension......that the locking lugs are beveled opposite what a standard extension is. When I build a lefty upper and use a right barrel.....I remove the extension......polish a bevel on the proper side of the locking lugs in the extension and then retorque the extension......Or my prefered solution is to buy a left hand extension and make a barrel. A left hand bolt on a right hand extension may, and I repeat, may cause accelerated wear on the bolt locking lugs and issues with locking during feeding. |
