I've done the complete left hand upper with a barrel swap. The barrel extension is not the the same on a regular barrel but so far its a none issue.

I would go with the Stag M4 from Rainier, the Noveske barrel, and the LaRue rails.  Although having to sell stuff may be a pain.  Sounds like you have a sweet shooting rifle in the works

Remember if you have a single spare part left over you are doomed to a subsequent build.

My lefty SPR in 6.8 SPC ran me about $2500.

I planned to spend around that on this little guy...
And I know about the left over part problem too...
I switched the FSB on my lefty M4 to a flip up and had to build my friend a rifle cause of that 1 FSB laying around..
Now I have more extra parts!!!
Its a never ending cycle!!

I was going to have YHM custom cut one....
The price was just a guesstimate...
Probably closer to $300 if not more...

Have you asked YHM if they would even do a custom?
I seriously doubt they would.
They are a machine shop, not a custom shop.

Make post #556 in my industry forum with the subject "my post #556 got me a free t-shirt"
Then print out the post, drop it in the mail to me and I send you a T-shirt.
I have a long-standing rule that I give away t-shirts to people that use cool post numbers to request a t-shirt.
Generally, it needs to be 4 digits all matching like 4444 or 5555, but I make exceptions for 223, 556 and 762.

SHIPSNIPE1, what do you think about that SOCOM lower ? I know a fellow that's talking about selling one. He bought it for an SPR build too, then all of a sudden decided he didn't like it.

what kind of receiver is that?

If you want to build it right, you'd want to use a barrel with an AMBI barrel extension.

PS.  Thanks for pointing out my pricing mistake.  STAG ARMS have dropped their prices some on Lefties and we forgot to update our site.  We have updated our prices to show $349.95 now.

Man...
Looking at those smooth FF forearms with minimal rails look more SPR'ish....
That PRI Rifle Length Free Float Forearm System Is sexy as hell with that forearm rail connecting the upper and forearm.....
DAMNT... The price of this thing keeps going up....
Gonna have to take out a loan to pay for it...
But I GOTTA HAVE IT!!!
Damn addiction... Crack is cheaper.....

Can anyone post a picture of the underside of the Rifle Lenght PRI FF Forearm to see if I can attach a short piece of rail to attach a VG???

Thanks...

what kind of receiver is that?

A SOCOM Diamond Receiver.

No longer available IRRC.  The manufacturer got entangled in some alphabet agency issues.

He also made a side charging receiver but I have never seen one.

The lower has several differences compared to the standard AR reciever:

-Adjustable trigger overtravel and reset.

-No roll pins are used to hold parts.  All SS set-screws.

-Different mag well.  More squared off, but also deeper bevels.

-Adjustable upper to lower fit.  Using a set screw in the same location as the Accu-Wedge.

-The angles are sharper.

The last place I saw that had any was Brownell's but they only had the funky Spacegun colors.

MGP :My rifle shoots great.  It wasn't done when I took the pic above.  (Notice no FWD Assist, no rear BUIS.)

I only got to shoot it a couple of times before I decided to disassemble it to do some small machining tasks.

My cousin and I both were getting 1" groups at 75yds but we weren't doing any serious shooting just trying out the gun.

The scope is an 8x42 POSP which is surprisingly clear but the adjustments are quite mushy and the illumination was broken when I got (I fixed it).

Should hold me over until I can sell enough crack to purchase another $1000 scope.
