| I'll be joining the club in the next couple months and have had my mind set on the Stag Arms model 2L, but have read a few things online saying even though I shoot left I should go with a right handed AR. Not planning on doing any mods other than a Aimpoint CompM4s (I say that now......). Simply looking for some good advice, thanks in advance. |

I completely disagree.
I am left handed, owned ARs since 1993, as many as 9 at one time. I always said the right handed AR was "good enough" for me too until I finally bought my first Stag lefty upper about 5 years ago out of sheer curiosity. I have since traded or sold off ALL of my right handed uppers, and have 3 Stag Arms lefty uppers and 2 MSAR E4s. Right handed may have been "good enough", but left side ejection is more comfortable on my eyes, nose, and lungs. (I do not shoot wolf, mostly LC) You're going to get "proprietary parts" hype, "no replacement parts in SHTF" hooplah, etc, but during the last political SHTF, I managed to find a left handed upper IN STOCK at Rainier arms when ALL OTHER UPPERS were on 180+ days backorder. I ordered and received my complete upper within a week! Everyone should keep a spare bolt for each rifle anyway, and it never hurts to keep at least one spare bolt carrier per collection. These are the only "proprietary" parts besides the upper itself. You can get MP tested bolts and carriers, M16 carriers, etc, 1:7 twist barrels, etc. now so even those arguments are gone. If you want one, get one. |
