just wondering if this is a legit matech.
there were a few things that struck me as odd 1. the lettering was clearly color filled by someone on a monday since its really not that great of a color fill job 2. the color is more of an old colt grey while other matechs seem to be black. 3. the elevation lever appears to be MiM http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_0962.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_3860.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_4459.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_0979.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_7603.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/SinlesSorrow/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_4379.jpg |

Not sure the more I look. I have one that is almost identical. And mine came out of one of those "military dry packages".
Mine is slightly darker, but I attribute that to it being brand new. The colorfill looks like shit on almost all of them. They are a great all-around sight. But they are all a little rough around the edges. ETA: Damnit man. Now I am not sure. Mine does not have the MIM adjuster like yours. It looks the same but mine is definitely machined. I don't know if they changed the way they made them over the years or what. Mine looks a little better than that one everywhere. I don't know whether it's real or not. I hate all this damn fake shit. The fakers/copiers are so good at it nowadays it makes seemingly simple purchases sketchy. ETA-A: I still think yours is real. I am very curious myself now though. Hopefully someone that knows all the minute differences will be along with the details on what's what. |

I forgot to say but the mount is a battle arms mount so it is different. |

So I noticed today, I have one that I purchased from a reputable company (Midway, brownells, or somebody like that), that one has on the right side a little picture and says picatinny under it. All parts have the same finish. This was the case when I saw one at a reputable gun shop today.
I have two others that do not have the logo on the side or wording and the windage drum has a finish like the one in your picture. I got these two for $80 from EE here. They hold a zero so do I care....?idk |

My first Matech had a semigloss grey-ish finish. The current one has a nice dark grey parked finish. 3. some parts are MIM but both my elevation levers looks machined. anyway, MaTech Solutions is not the only manufacturer of these BUIS so there're some differences beetween different contractors. Look for the CAGE code under the base.... real MaTech are marked either "Matech 0GU83" or just "0GU83". My latest BUIS is marked "3DB52" and it was made by "Design West Technologies, Inc" |
