What would be the best way to remove a smudge of clp from the lens of a VX-III scope, hypothetically speaking?

Blow the lens with a high-pressure air to remove any grit that maybe on it, use a eye glass cloth or something really soft like it, and if it is oily and smudges you rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab, then use the eye glass cloth.
