Does anyone else have this issue? When using an ACOG (3 and 3.5x) up close (~25yds) I shoot worse groups than with irons or an Aimpoint. The magnification amplifies the movement and at close range this seems to be a problem for me. Any reccomendations?

Remember parallax can be an issue at closer range.

I have a 3.5 myself.  Anything closer than 50 yrds is tough to find through the lense.  Run a side mounted red dot if you are concerned about it.

remember the ACOG is a combat optic designed to shoot mansized targets. if your groups are within 12", you are still scoring COM hits and the ACOG is functioning as intended.

shooting a practical rifle with a combat optic for groups is like trying to run and gun with a dedicated precision rifle, it works and it's fun to do but neither is optimized or intended for that...

Yes I have problems at close range with a 3X ACOG and at distance with the Aimpoint. That is why techonology is evolving to the next generation of combat optic with the 1-4X scopes.

no I have no problem at all hitting a target at less than 25 yards with my ta31f . your nervous and your socks are to loose thats the problem.. seriously a good 22lr semi auto topped with a 4 power scope and several boxes of bulk pack will help alot . maybe try squirrel hunting its good practice hitting moving targets at close range.
