which wolf is better? there is what appears to be plain Wolf ammo then something called Military Classic. What is the difference? Thanks in advance! EDIT: FOR ONCE THE SEARCH ACTUALLY PROVIDED ME AN ANSWER. well a partial answer. can anyone confirm that the MC is steelcore ammo? i know some ranges don't allow that. otherwise, is there really no difference? |

Wolf is the importer. The ammunition in the different packaging comes from different plants. At least if we are talking about centerfire rifle and pistol ammo: Wolf in black box = Tula Arsenal Wolf "Military Classic" in camo box = Ulyanovsk Arsenal Look at the headstamps. |
well, i've read that now all of it is polymer coated... I thought. maybe i'm just getting confused. so it would actually be a safer bet to get the black box stuff that is polymer coated... |

This seems to come up about once a week. Its been hashed over and over. I am not completely familiar with all the little 'nuances' of each other than they are both poly coated with the poly on the MC being a little thinner coat, they are made in different plants. From my experience and others, the MC seems to have a bit more zip to it as the MC will cycle my SBR 100% while the BB only cycles it 50-60% of the time. That tells me all I need to know right there. Good cheap plinking for my SBR and a lot more fun when it runs like it should. |
