New mount arrived, will re-zero after this weekend and hopefully chrono. @Andi-in-BKK this is the Noveske barreled gun I was talking about. I will now whore this out like it’s my job.  |

Found Blackarcmunitions had 262 Alpha in stock yesterday so I grabbed some. I'll try to pick up some 85gr and 80.5gr Shellshock stuff too, then cheaper stuff like AAC and IMI. I'll report back after I run my tests. |

I'll report back after I run my tests. @Andi-in-BKK Only found Freedom Promatch 77gr Nosler local to me. Initial range report was very, very encouraging. Zeroed with PMC Bronze 55gr, got about 2 MOA. Threw a chrono out and put a mag of 77gr Nosler Match through it. Got a 5 shot group of 1 MOA and then it opened up after getting hot. I wasn’t shooting slowly by any stretch. Avg was 2695 FPS, max of 2714, with a SD of 17.4. I’d imagine the barrel needs to settle in a bit, as that batch of ammo in a well used barrel had an SD of 9.2. For day one, I’m quite happy considering I’ve got 6 or 7 more factory loads to try to identify which one it likes. |

I was looking and saw that Badlands Munitions does several 75-85gr pills in brass for pretty cheap (SMKs, Match-Burners, etc). All of them under a dollar a round with some 77smk loads down to $0.80/rd which is getting close to AAC SMK prices. That might be another option to consider. |

I've had solid performance out to 800y. I see some consistent low SD's from longer barrels from them |

The glass is better on the pst2 but most notable the edge to edge clarity. Reticle, turrets, and weight go to the GLX. I thought I'd hate the chevron but it's not bad getting zero at 100 and on 2.5 it's awesome. No need for a dot unless your shooting at night up close. Shooting a small 200m target will probably be annoying with the chevron but luckily 200m is really the only distance the chevron will hinder you if you're holding from a 100m zero. Reticle for reference with drops using aac 77gr.  |

Is anyone here using an ATACR 4-16 with a piggyback RMR? I’m looking for some feedback. I’m trying to keep the RMR as low as possible and am torn between mount options. Ideally, I’d like to run a Geissele mount with a Reptilia RMR ring and a 2.5mm spacer (I know they also offer a 10mm, but I’m trying to avoid additional height if I can). If that setup doesn’t work, I’m considering the Badger Condition One mount with their RMR ring/mount as a potential middle ground. I’m not too concerned if the optic is slightly obstructed, as long as around 70% of the window remains unobstructed. Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions! |

I just did this and ended up going T-2 on a 45* offset, but I was considering a Reptilia ROF and RMR. I think that was pretty low without the spacer and Koeng Co had the lowest option if you are running Nightforce or Badger mounts. Koeng Co had what looked up be the perfect height when paired with the Nightforce ring cap. But the system was getting north of $400-450 for the setup. |

The C1 seemed higher and is also bulkier with another band that goes around the scope. The PMM was simpler and definitely lower (actually a bit too much so that I had to add the Reptilla spacers). |

Bumping this to ask an SPR question that was brought up; Do you believe an SPR needs an 'SPR profile' aka HBAR barrel and the qualities that an HBAR brings to the table (heat resistance, rigidity, etc) to be an SPR? Or is the only requirement that it is accurate (1 MOA or better) on demand when needed even if the profile is less-than-HBAR such as gov profile or any other custom contour? |

Ive been thinking a lot about what ill replace this barrel with. Attached File Attached File This. 2.25lbs Attached File Possibly to something like this 1.85lbs Attached File Some of my concerns about going shorter is that at 18" its hearing safe right now. I actually have the above 16" barrel but im saving it for my sons first build. Its thicker than govt profile so it should be stiffer. Id rather a barrel that shoots 1.5-2 moa to the same poi from the first shot to after 3 mags at a quick tempo than a .5moa barrel who throws the first shot and poi shifts after a mag. |

I'd proudly declared my CZ 457MTR with subs and an OCL 22 ti suppressor my favorite gun to shoot, but this build might take the crown. 18" BCM barrel I've had forever, turned down to .700" behind the gas block, MK8 handguard, superlative gas block, BCM BCG, Larue trigger, SWFA FFP 3-9x (same as my hunting rifle). Very soft, easily doing headshots on a cow elk steel silhouette at 600yds with mixed brass 77gr SMK reloads that I literally did no work on. So much more pleasant to shoot than my 6.5x284 hunting rifle, I think I need to load up a ton of ammo and get to practicing on some USFS land in positions other than prone.
