I currently have a Vari-X II 3-9x40 with the wide duplex reticle. I was shopping over at SWFA.com, and noticed their Vari-X III 1.5-5x20. I've got a LaRue SPR mount, and am not a fan of bulky 3-9x40 up on top of the rifle. Anyone have one of those 1.5-5x20 models? How small is it? Would I be giving up much to switch from my 3-9 to the 1.5-5? TIA |
| I have a MK4-1.5x5 and love it, I was going to get another one and started looking at the VX-III(I wanted a Ilum Ret)also. I also have the LaRue SPR and am going with another MK4 on my new build. I not sure what you type of shooting you do, but for 0-300m its a great scope. You will lose that top end power of the 9x but I can still hit D size targets at 500m w my 1.5x5 all day long. Plus you could always get another mount and swap them if need be. |
