I just finished building my 6.8 AR and I keep getting light primer strikes and it wont fire. It has a reduced weight trigger spring from JP rifles. I put my other lower reciever on with a regular weight lower and it
functions just fine. Will I be able to use the lighter spring once it get the weapon broke in or am I just going to have to use the factory spring?

You can probably use the light trigger spring, but need the stronger hammer spring even after break in.

Is it the same type of spring configuration as the standard spring?  If so did you install it upside down???

Are the spring winds orientated like this, with the spring legs on top of the hammer pin?

Also, does the FP protrusion spec out to .032 to .037 out of the bolt face with the FP pressed against the back of the bolt?

Is so, and you really, really want to run the lighter hammer spring, you may need to increase the FP protrusion to the max limit (.037) to get reliable ignition.
Note: Front face of the FP stopping collar dictates the protrusion, and if needed, it can be set back to increase the protrusion to max limits to compensate for the lighter hammer spring due to the weaker spring.
But, do not exceed the max protrusion limit or you may end up piercing primers (read plasma erode the FP tip very quickly).

To add: confirm that the bolt is fully locking up to begin with each time/shot.  If the bolt is not fully locked up at hammer strike, the back of the carrier will block the FP full protrusion, and could be the problem at hand.

I will check it out. I just moved and don't get internet at my new house so I am not able  to check this very often.
