Yeah I'm sure this has been made a million times over but I am looking for the lightest weight free float rail that I could get that isn't a carbon fiber handguard which I think look hideous.

So I have already seen the Midwest Industries 3GM Series but People have said the lowest you should go is 11" rail I want a long free float rail but lightweight?

I'm not really a person who calculates every single item for ounces except when it comes to handguards.

And if there is nothing like this out there then I'll settle for whatever I think is best suited.

BCM KMR with a V7 Titanium barrel nut is a pretty popular choice.

ALG or MI, rest is crap compared to them in sub 200 class, imo

Primary Arms has 13" and 12" ALG EMR rails for $97 and $93 right now, respectively.

Can't beat that, as the EMR is one of the better rails you can buy at any price.

+1 to ALG EMR V3
- Mine was $140
- Installs w/o a torque wrench
- Comes with integrated limited rotation QD

I like the 13

You don't find the ALG a bit heavy at 13 ounces compared to maybe say 8-9 for different?

Are the others including the weight of the barrel nut?

This one says 7.7 ounces even without a barrel nut it would still be lighter then some others.

Can't say I really like the machined lines in this one very much though.

Seen a lot more bent rails since the advent of the super lights. I want a middle weight.

ALG Defense. Pretty lightweight, doesn't rape your wallet, and I hate keymod

Yup, this is why I went to ALG from MI on builds...there has to be a durability factor and I find the MI rails to be too thin and flexible.

My personal FF uppers are now Aero enhanced M4E1 systems which are the most durable I can find without being heavy.

Wrong.  There are a number of quality options out there in the price range, including MI's new G3 rail.

It's slimmer, has integral QD's and it's even lighter if I remember correctly.

Not knocking on ALG or Geissele, but they aren't the only kids on the block making quality gear.

Yep still don't like it. Like I said it's my opinion obviously but I think they look a little bit dinky and strange on a metal rifle.

I love my BCM KMR alpha, it's right in your price range, and very lightweight (even though it's not as light as the aluminum-magnesium non-alpha version)

Here's the 13" on one of my 16" guns

Aero Precision also makes a great rail in that price range.

I don't you can beat ALG for bang for you buck though.

BCM KMR-A is my go to, and is right in the middle of your price range (the best deal I'm seeing on the 13" is $150).  I'm not real sure about where it falls weight-wise in relation to the other slim free floats out there... I'm kinda like you in that I like light, handy rifles but don't go calculating the oz's of every little part... but it is pretty damn light.  It's also very tough and has a great barrel nut attachment system and anti-rotation feature, and comes with BCM's excellent Keymod sling swivel socket.
