| I have been looking for a light weight upper and have not found what I would like. I would like a flat top upper that does not have a shell deflector, forward assist, and a dustcover. Similar to a DPMS Lo-Pro, but lighter in weight. Does anyone know of one? |

Nice setup! I have a question though.
Bushmaster says the Carbon upper "Uses modified Carbon 15 Barrel Extension Barrel Assemblies" I have put off getting one, because i was looking at the same thing, using the superlite barrewl with the C15 upper. anything special there, or did they build just the sam as an aluminum receiver? The Les Baer upper receiver has a shell deflector, but can be ordered without forward assist.
Model 1 Sales offers a stripped A3 upper receiver that is slickside, without shell deflector or forward assist, but the gas tube hole will need to be drilled: Model 1 Slickside Upper. |
Here's a 9mm slickside flattop outfitted for use as a 5.56 DI receiver:
That is one such as Harlan mentioned, from Model1. I've been told they are actually finished by Stag. If you pursue the 9mm option you need to make sure the receiver you get has the cam pin rotation area milled out: 
And it will need a gas tube hole drilled in the front:
