Alright, well I'm currently running the Surefire M952V on my Larue OBR. As I'm sure everyone here is aware the factory mount SUCKS, and the tailcap is huge! I would really like to mod this light, but I'm having difficulty locating parts. I really like Haley Strategic's Thorntail placement, but they don't currently offer one for this light. Anyone got any suggestions cause the current setup is about to make me go crazy! Also, I don't care if I continue to use the tape switch so if anyone knows of a smaller tailcap that will work please let me know. Thanks in advance

Sell 952v in the ee, buy scout light. Problem solved!

The tailcap is huge but it has unique features that make it desirable, in particular the ability to run the tape switch and still have push-button (with constant on/off support) on the same tailcap. This, IMO, is what made me switch from a Scout to the 952V (I did give up some compactness and light output, though).

You can always get the LaRue LT170 or even an ARMS #17 mount to lower the profile. I think either of those (but I prefer the LaRue) is an improvement over the stock M93. I don't think an offset mounts makes much sense with the light being as big as it is, but that's a matter of personal preference. A Scout light in an offset mount (e.g., Gear Sector, LaRue) is about as low profile of a setup that you can currently get.
