I have to remove a stubborn front sight post. Does anyone know if Liquid Wrench is ok on firearms? I dont want it to harm the finish.

Yes, it's fine. You shouldn't be worrying about the finish. Oil of wintergreen and Kroil are also excellent penetrating oils.

I've always had great success with Kroil. I also use it to remove lead from the barrel on my 45-90 Sharps, since I use lead bullets in it.
