What kind of locktite do you use on your scope rings?

Some manufacturers do not recommend loctite for obvious reasons.

I would use purple or blue, depending on screw size.

Well I have crappy IOR 35mm rings, they won't stay tight they go loose after firing about 10 rounds or so.  Plus my options are very limited when it comes to 35mm mounts.

Are you using a torque wrench?  My IOR rings have been fine with no loctite.

+1 my 30mm IOR's have been great as well, no loctite.  When I use loctite, it is always the blue stuff and never the red.  YMMV.

So I need to torque it down more?  Is that it?

They are the 35mm rings that are supplied with their 35mm scopes.

I always use the blue, #242.

I also put a drop on each side where the rings touch the scope.  Helps to form a more complete bearing area to hold.

Is it easy to get it off if you need to?

I think so, but I heat it up with a propane torch a little to loosen it up.  When I say a little, I mean just hot enough where can't touch it with your bare hands.

And make damn sure you've got the right tool to fit.  If you use an Allen wrench just a little to small,  you're screwed.

And don't put Loctite on screws that have heads that already show signs of damage, you may never get them out.
