I have a red dot sight with a single mounting nut (EOTech 516)...

The nut loosens after about 50 rounds...  I am considering treating the problem with some Loctite purple - specifically Loctite 222MS.  Does anyone have any experience with this type of Loctite?  Is it a good choice or am I making a mistake?

Thanx,

- Michael -

I'd use blue as I know I can remove blue with tools.

WTH, since it's an Eotech you might as well use red (bearing and stud mount) but you'll need to torch the screw to get it off.

I've never seen purple, I would use blue.  Don't use red, or as stated before you will need a torch to remove it.

I have used purple only because some came with a rail system I had.  Came in a small tube.  Web site says the purple is just under the blue as far as strenght.  Should be good to go with purple or blue.

I'm going to recommend blue but in the gel version.  it's way easier to apply and doesn't run all over the place.  since it's made by Permatex, it's Threadlocker Blue Gel and I got it at AutoZone

blue is more common and serviceable, i've actually never used the purple (i've used alot of blue on motorcycles though)
