I helped an older friend of mine build an AR and he needs a longer stock than just the M4 telestock. He's rather tall and has long arms. Is there a simple replacement! We tried a slip on buttbad, but that didn't do much
thanks

I'm pretty sure Vltor makes a 7 position RE, longest I have come across . Fixed stock not an option?

Ace makes the M4 SOCOM in long and short versions.  The short uses a CAR buffer and spring and it's length is adjustable from 7.5-9.5 inches while the long uses a rifle buffer and spring and its length is adjustable from 9.5-11.5 inches.  It gives you the length of a fixed rifle stock but is 5 position adjustable.  It comes with a 1/2 inch thick soft rubber recoil pad but can be replaced with a one-inch thick soft rubber recoil pad, adding even more length.

It's a heavy stock, about a pound and a quarter, but it is fantastic at absorbing recoil, not the 5.56 has any recoil that needs absorbing.  If used on anything larger than .308 though it may need to be fixed into position with the fixing kit included.  You can still adjust LOP but it is not instantly adjustable.  By using it fixed it works beautifully on rounds like the .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf.  If the new version is like the old, DO NOT USE IT in the unfixed setup on anything that recoils more than the .308 unless you check with ACE first to verify that it is now OK.  It has been several years since I checked but I did notice they no longer list the recoil warning on their web site (Double Star apparently now owns them).
