Rare as hens teeth and Colt is supposedly not making them anymore. No more A1s and just flat tops as supposedly from somebody well connected to Colt the forging die is damaged at Anchor Harvey. I have a Colt 9mm upper on back order with Brownells. And a barrel I seem to be a day late and a dollar short. When I first started reading the reto blog I could'nt understand why it took people sometimes years to complete a build. Then I caught the disease. Wow what a wake up. |

A little drilling for the gas tube and a little milling for the cam pin... cam pin cutout appears to be present. Cool! I see that in the picture now. The two Rock River 9mm uppers I converted did not have the cam pin cutout. |

Try and find one now.
Lots of folks have mentioned they have been looking for a while without luck. I bought two a while back at the SAR East show and regretted not buying more at the time and then he was at the Redball Military vehicle show this weekend so I asked him to bring what he had left. |
|
That's him, good guy and I picked up a couple of the LWRC integrated rail/upper combos from him from the SAR show but they were a bit more expensive.
The clamp on ones were so reasonable I was looking for an excuse to buy them! I resisted but I kind of wish I hadn't. |

Congratulations! Great score! One of those uppers would be a perfect candidate for a dedicated retro 22lr. (For example, like the one I'm currently building. That rack is pretty awesome as well. That's what I did with one I picked up at a gunshow last spring. Built a retro styled .22 pistol. I didn't even realize it was a 9mm upper until I got back to my vehicle and was checking out my scores. |
