[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Looking for a lower...

Hey guys, I'm not exactly new to ARs (have five currently with two builds in the works) but I've got a friend who's been bitten by the BRD after shooting my one of my N4s.

He's looking for a value build but not willing to skimp on quality to save money. That being said, I've convinced him to go the way of a build. I've spent a little time shopping around for lowers but haven't found any good deals recently...have you guys seen any deals worth checking out? Also, is there anywhere you guys have seen LMT defenders in stock? I've kind of got him leaning towards a defender w/standard trigger (probably get a Geisselle later) and SOPMOD. But, he's also thinking about a stripped lower and just building his own (well, rather, me showing him how to build it). I know he won't got for an el-cheapo(neither would I) but any money saved on the lower is more money for the rest of the rifle.

I ordered two of these today. They were $180 last week. From the reports I've read $200 is still a steal.

With stripped lowers, I usually find that the little I save by getting them online, I make up by paying the FFL fee. If you have a good dealer in the area that doesn't gouge on them, it's usually best to support the locals, and not have to wait.

I recently did a build on a AGP Arms stripped lower - it's so nice that their lowers are now my first choice for future builds. They're an Industry Partner, check them out!

I saw the AGP on the EE a few days ago, seemed to look pretty nice IMO.

Don't know how many other companies do it but they CNC all of the rollmarks/pictograms onto the lower, it's not stamped which may tend to have not as good results.

I think spike tactical had some sells going on with their stripped lowers.
