Hey,

New to ARs and optics so this may be a little difficult to explain. I saw a optic mount that really interested me in a video I cannot find the video anymore so I will try best to describe it.

I saw a two piece system AR half and Scope half with what I really like was a twist and snaps in place system. twist and remove. So with release press mounted scope you turn it 90 degrees
and left it off put it back on at 90 twist and snaps in place ready to go.

Does anyone have or know what type of system this is and can offer links and info for purchase?

Thanks

I feel like you're describing the last set of rings/bases in this video...

Why not get one of the many popular QD one piece mounting systems that's designed for the AR platform?

I think the OP is talking about a red dot with a magnifier behind it in a twist off mount.

I don't run that particular arrangement, so have no further comments.

Thanks all for the input, exactly the clues I needed. Yes it looks like it was the Aimpoint twist mount. I am starting out with a scope which that mount wont work for my needs. I will go with
a Red Dot Sight later with the twist mount once I know what I really want to do.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I would want to use the magnifier mount for a red dot sight. The magnifier can be out of alignment and since it's just magnifying, the red dot sight needs to be solidly aligned. The magnifier mount may have too much play for holding zero (I haven't tried it, just a possible concern).
