I am trying to put a Midwest Industries T-12 on a 16 inch barrel with a carbine length gas system.  I currently have a GI stock front sight base.  The issue that I am having is that the barrel is only .625 in diameter at the gas port.
I know that LaRue makes a low-profile block to fit, but was wondering if anybody else did.  I have been looking, admittedly not not in a very scientific manner, for an hour or so, and have not found anything else.

I would really rather not just chop my existing piece down, and a new barrel is not in the budget.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

About 1/2 down the page

PK Firearms

YHM-9377A .625 Specter Gas Block Designed to fit under railed forearms that are at least 1-5/8" inside diameter. These work great with forearms that extend farther than the standard gas system. Durable steel 2 piece design so that it will work with welded and pinned muzzle devices. Made for .625 barrels.

Go with the LaRue...forget the rest!  They are priced competitively, easy to install, will cover your taper pin scars (if you have them) have top notch construction and if you do have a problem (not likely you will) someone will answer the F'n phone to help you out!

Go to google shopping. Search for "low profile gas block .625". Find one you like from a reputable dealer.

Thank you all.  I am new to the whole AR scene, and just am not familiar with even a small percentage of the suppliers out there.

I actually just purchased one from VLTOR.  They don't advertise them on their site for some reason, you will need to either call or email them.

Here is their response when asking for a .625" one...

"We sure do, it's the GB-1 series and they're priced at $65.95 for the
clamp style (GB-1C) and $58.95 for the set screw model (GB-1S)."

However, after shipping, it ended up being $70 for the set screw model.

EDIT:  I wanted to go with the clamp style, but they said that it might not fit under certain rails.  I'm going with the Daniel Defense Lite 9.0 so I wanted to make sure I got one that would fit under it.  Not happy about having to drill small dimples on the barrel though.

Nobody mentioned YHM, either. They've got 'em for $22. That's who I'm planning on getting, when I get ready to upgrade my rail to a longer one.

Edit. Not certain that it's .625", but it might be worth checking into.
