I just saw that Life Liberty Etc. added a lower assembly video to the Range Bag section.

I know most of you guys don't need it, but I thought some of us new guys could use it.

Available for download here

That is a great video for two reasons:

1) It's very informative and easy to follow.

2) I've never seen a guy build an AR lower while barefoot.

I like where he bangs up the bolt catch pin, and the camera stops and then he comes back and says, "well, that didn't go quite as planned"...haha.  It helps to use the correct roll pin punch when you're doing that for sure.  But really, a pretty informative video.

That thing was a bitch.  I think I popped it back out and tried reinstalling it 3-4 times before it went in, and I still had to edit it down since it didn't go well.  I had a built another lower about a week before and the bolt catch pin went in like a breeze.  Go figure.

Anyway, glad y'all like my amateur gunsmithing, and it's been linked in one of the tacked threads in the Build It Yourself forum.

LOL! It happens man! Wouldn't be a true assembly video without one of those. That was a good video DVDTracker, thanks for putting it together.

I know I found very informative. I just might have to order more shirts as well.

good video!

I managed to do it while sitting in a chair on my computer....

Used a punch and the back of a screwdriver for a hammer....

The hardest part was the hammer as i needed 3 hands to align it, hold the receiver, and tap the pin in.
