I plan on starting my AR build in the near future and I want to start off with the lower. Im interested in a Mega receiver but my options are open. What is the best site with the largest variety of receivers and components? And also does anyone know what type of receiver was used in the lower assembly tutorial video? For the safety its said "peace" and for full-auto it said "superior fire" I think. I thought those were some pretty sick details.

Well many will argue that a lower is a lower ( like my self) and others will say there is a differance and to a point there is a differance. Some manufactures just make a 'cleaner' lower if that makes sense. But with that said if the lower is in spec there should be no differance in how it works.

If you like a lower with some custom details as you described cheak out Spikes tactical lowers and Anvil Arms lowers. They both have laser engraving services to make that lower 'yours'. I just picked up 3 from Anvil Arms with 2 engravings each for $115 each. Not to damn shabby considering. Also look at Noveske for a nice clean lower. Also as you stated anything Mega makes is going to be very nice.

SO now that I did'nt help you one bit and just added to the whole 'what lower do I get'? Good luck and keep us posted

Personally I would go with an Anvil, Spikes, SMOS, or POF.

SMOS and POF are billet and much more expensive 200+

I believe that Spikes has a smokin deal on their lowers now $95 instead of $145 i think...

Just picked up a Sabre Lower...nice and clean (by that we mean no forging lines, no "flash" as it were). Got it for $149 at the local funshop. The only thing I didn't like about it is the markings are peened on, not engraved. I'm getting to like it more and more, though. Nice and simple with no emblem.

I just picked up a Noveske N4 lower that was $149 from Rainierarms.  It is the quality that you would expect from Noveske.

Wow I like everything Spike Tact has and Rainier has the variety I was looking for. It going to take a while for me just to plan the build out because theres so many options!

I'm working with Anvil right now...getting custom laser engraving.

Heard nothing but good about them.

I'll post a picture in a couple of weeks when I get it.

Gotta throw another vote out for Anvil Arms. Jon is good people, and has great products/services.

I just got off the phone with them and ordered two. They are out of stock, but anticipate about a 7-10 day wait. Given I have a broke arm right now, I'm in no hurry.
