Well, i started assembling my lower, put trigger guard in, THEN, put the roll pin in the WRONG hole!! Now, should i just leave it, or try to drill it out?? Ticks me off, i should have known better, anyone else do this? Let me know what you did. Guess i am lucky though, i could have broken the ear off of the lower.

What hole did you put it in?

i bet its in the front. somebody once did the same thing, and it was suggested to use a dremel to cut it down and gently tap it out.

holding the reciever the way you'd shoot, it's in the front hole, this is one hole with a dead end , the back hole, the CORRECT hole is a through and through.

NOW, how do i get the roll pin out, drill it, or try to take it out with small vice grips?

Carefully cut the roll pin, preferably with a Dremmel tool and cut-off disk.  You may want to put in some masking tape around the inside of the trigger guard to help protect should you slip.

Once cut in half you should be able to drift the pin through until it falls free.  Just remember to fully support the ears while doing it.  Lots of hardwear stores have roll pins of the correct size if you don't have spares.

The proble is i can't drive the pin all the way through, i have one hole, and then a blind end, with NO HOLE.

He cant cut the roll pin if its inside his trigger guard. Might get it out with an easy out.

if it's not in all the way the try vice grips and twist it out.  What I would do is flip the lower upside down and dremmel a section of the trigger guard to make room to push the pin out.  you'll need a new trigger guard.

or.... you could just leave it alone

Its most of the way in, only about a short 1/4'' at the very most, cutting the trigger guard is something i've thought about too, anyone have an extra trigger guard?? This kind of bone head mistake ticks me off, and , i'm kind of a perfectionist, in a way. Like if you do it, do it right.  Or, i could just leave it alone. But, i doubt if i will, this week just might be the time to do it. thanks for the extra idea.

you could even try to grind away the trigger guard to expose the roll pin.  the trigger guard is a few bucks from delton

You might try clamping it with a pair of vise grips and tapping the vise grips with a hammer to see if the pin backs out.  Personally the cost of the receiver vs. the cost of even a Magpul guard would have me cutting that guard up and getting a new one, but it's your call.

cut the guard up to get it out, they are cheap to replace, lowers are not.

I would cut off the nub of the roll pin hanging out, buy a second roll pin for the back of the trigger guard and leave it alone. Unless I am mistaken it will work fine.
