I'm going to try my hand at blasting a lower and anodizing it, for an A1, what gives the right matte finish?  The best guess I have so far is 100 grit aluminum oxide at 40 - 50psi.  Anyone else have a suggestion for what to try to get the right texture?

The only blasting of aluminum I ever did was an NDS lower I wanted stripped of anodizing, and we used glass bead at 50psi. After re-anodizing a different color, the texture was the same as what came from Nodak.

I agree - I think I'd use glass beads. That's what I've heard is right for aluminum. I can't remember what grit we used - it was a long time ago, and it wasn't a receiver - that would make me nervous.
