I have a complete Stag 1L carbine, and I recently built a new lower w/a DPMS kit and a Spike's Tactical forged lower. I installed an ACE stock, and was good to go. I swapped out the Stag for the Spike's, and was suprised at the difference in fit. The Spike's is a bit loose, but not military issue loose. The Stag is so tight, there is absolutely no wiggle. Somebody explain this? I know it doesn't affect anything, but how are they that different? Does Stag use tighter pins? I also noticed that the Stag ambi safety fit's close to the receiver, while the DPMS sits out a bit. Conversely, the DPMS trigger is very nice while the stag trigger is quite heavy. These may just be thoughts that I am rambling about... |
