I got a quick question about using certain lubricants, for example i use a thing called Otis i dont know if anybody has heard of kit, it came with my cleaning it and it says that it cleans, lubricates, reduces friction all the good stuff, but the thing is that when i put it on after a couple days it dries up or so it seems, the parts still move easily and im pretty sure the lubricant is still there the question i have is should i lubricate it before i take it to the range or just leave alone, and another thing is whats a very good lubricant to use, and where can i get it?

otis is a good cleaning kit so you're gtg there

for lubricant get some miltec, clp, slip 2000, or hoppes

i personally am a fan of clp and slip

you can pick these up online at quite a few gun vendors (don't have any names off the top of my head) or go to a store that sells guns and they should have some there

ETA: forgot to answer your other question

if it looks dry when you go to the range lube it....i always believe it's better to be a little on the wet side than the dry side

think of it as a woman and engaging in sexual deeds....when your "bolt carrier" is riding "inside the upper"...which is gonna work better....a wet BC or a dry one? hehe

Check out this recent thread -

Lube directions / discussions

Personally, I'm a recent convert to using a LITTLE grease on any part that is worn silver (bottom of bolt carrier, etc. etc.) because grease stays where you put it - oil runs from where you apply it.

Sounds like you got the Otis dry lube with your Otis kit.  It works just fine.
