I am thinking of using a M16 BCG instead of AR for a 7.62x39 build.
Any thoughts on this matter? I'm thinking along the lines of strength and stress.

There is nothing magical in an "M16" carrier.  Assuming you're talking about parts from reputable manufacturers, the difference between an "M16" (or "full auto" or "uncut") bolt carrier and a more typical AR-15/semi-auto carrier is that there is slightly less metal at the rear, reducing the weight of the carrier by a few grams.  A quality carrier, whether "full" or not, will be just as robust.  Some people like the tiny extra mass for what they believe are reliability reasons.  I like 'em because they make certain Liberals constipated, but that's just me.

Bottom line: get a quality carrier, and if you like (and it's available) get one that has that slightly larger mass.  More important than the carrier's mass is the quality of your bolt.  Good materials and plenty of testing (and marked accordingly) give you a bolt that will go and go and go.  THAT is the part you want to concentrate on.
