@TGWLDR @Combat_Diver Thank you both. I had ordered a Comp M2 from TAC but accidentally lost the mount that came with it moving to a new house. It was either the Rev 1 or Rev 2. Trying to find a replacement now. When were the Wilcox mounts put into use and which mounts was preferred? |

As far as I know only the Navy on the Mk18 Mod 0 used the Wilcox mount. All Army used the QRP in the M68 CCO kit as issued. Block I is started in 1995, M68 adopted by big Army around 97' and Mk18 Mod 0/CQBR early 2000s. Trivia: The Army adopted the Comp M in 1997, then Comp 2 in 2000, later the Comp4. All called the M68 CCO. My company A/1/5, used the Trijicon Reflex before we went to SFARTAETC (2 month CQB course), where we used the CompM during mid 97' Attached File CD |

I’m going with the M4A1 Block 1 based on Clone Rifles specs. Just tinkering with the optic setup and was never able to cement the answer until now. So it looks like I’m on the hunt for an AimPoint mount and I’ll return the Wilcox mount I have on order. Silly me purchased one of the Comp M2s from Thoroughbred and it came with the QRP Mount, scope cover and kill flash. And of course, silly me put the optic in a different box and it looks like I discarded the Mount while moving. |

@doolz The Gen1 mount is flat at the base, and the later versions were angled. My understanding is that the Gen1 mount would crack at the base where the vertical met with the base, so the later version had more meat added at that point to prevent breaking. |

This is my Block Iish M4. 1997 dated barrel, mostly Colt parts for the base gun except a PSA M4A1 lower for now, KAC M4RAS, Car stock with zip-tied pad. I have a few M68 bases--I need to find a deal on an M2. Gemtech mount (I know) is pinned. I have a ton of rounds through this thing. Always goes bang and hits what I'm pointing at. Attached File |

I finally got most everything for the clone of the last carbine I was ever issued in the Navy for my last deployment ever. I think it fits in this SOPMOD category somewhere. I wanted a regular length upper so I could put it on my SBR lower to travel across state lines without paperwork so I bought a SOCOM profile barrel and had ADCO pIN and weld the regular extended A2 flasher on it. The original had a KAC NT4. KAC rail KAC 300 meter BUIS CQD End plate TD vertical grip Surefire scout B5 SOPMOD government issue stock I had to buy a sling as the one that came in the kit issued to me was a single point. Thankfully LBT still had a storefront at that time in VB. It’s an LBT Quick adjust with some shop mods. Attached to the side sling swivel up front and the CQD plate via Hk hook on the back. I have the Wilcox m68 mount just need to find an Aimpoint M2. Also need to find one of the early SOFTT and some rigger bands to attach it to the stock. The lower and obviously the guts are not the same as a real M4 but it’s about as close as I can get with the overall set up layout components. Below is as close as I can replicate to a NSW support guys (or gals) M4. Attached File Attached File Need a Mk25 to go with it. |
