@Combat_Diver

Forgive me if you have already answered this, but do you paint the rifles after you've completed work or is it the end user who does?

Usually don't paint individual weapons that we get in.  However, crew served ie M3 84mm Carl G or Mk44 Miniguns I do paint after repair.

When did TA01NSNs start to get replaced?I know early 2000s they were everywhere but with the TA31 being big Army issue now, they seem super rare for anything past early GWOT.

CD,
how much Elcans are being employed vs (say) an Acog?
Is it really planned for the Specters to replace Acogs? Sold my FDE and find me foolishly wanting another one.

How frequently - you think - will we be seeing Elcan Specters used by the US Mil?

As far as conventional forces, its all ACOG s and Aimpoint comps. Elcans are on 240s

For SF/SOF though, the Elcan 1-4 out numbers the ACOG probably 10 to 1 at least, from what I see.

Nope - was meaning in wider terms. I know SOF had them but I was wondering if anyone has any idea about them being more widely available as an optic for the US Mil other than SOF. I had one (seen below) but sold it.

I decided to keep Acogs with Docters (also shown) to get the same feature of 4x or 1x, but am wondering if I should get back one Specter in FDE.
I only collect US Military rifles and gear and want to make sure to grab a Specter if - say - they will be more available in the future with other branches other than SOF

I don't foresee the US Army adopting it at this time.  Maybe with a new rifle but expect maybe a LVP laminated reticle optic next generation.

Hi folks. Pictured below is my M4 clone. I'm thinking about getting an M203. Are there any m203 sights that can fit on the M4 without moving the IR laser from the top of the rail?

PSQ-18.

Found one for sale too if you like big dumb stuff hanging off your rifle

https://store.glennsarmysurplus.com/mobile/insight-technology-anpsq-18a-day-night-ir-m203-classb-laser-sight-p1588.aspx

The PSQ-18's we had were clamped to the 203 tube instead of mounted off the side rail like the one for sale.

Shame about those lasers....they all seemed to get parts broken off of them shortly after we got em.  Had to send them back for repair/replacement but there weren't any extras to send back out. Too bad

It's one of those police trade in factory Colt SBRs from last year. Still waiting on my stamp.

I'm sorry if this was already covered somewhere, but is the standard Aimpoint Comp M2 thumb mount correct for a Block I or Block 1.5, or does it need a Wilcox mount specifically?

Can someone give me some insight on why Socom wanted the Wilcox mount instead of the OEM Aimpoint mount used my everyone else in the first place? It seems like it doesnt really save on rail space since the comp is as long as its original mount and the amount of rail the Wilcox grips seems to make it way less robust in case of drops. It might save a tiny bit of weight but I just dont really understand the thought process
