From M4A1 TRS SOFWEP-07-G12P-00032-00 Rev 1 and  SW370-CC-TRS-010 Rev 1

Removal and installation of FMBSC flash hider may be performed several times to add or remove
shims to ensure proper alignment of FMBSC flash hider and barrel.
(e) Using clean cloth and degreaser, clean barrel and FMBSC flash hider threads.
(f) Install spacer on barrel with beveled side (1) facing barrel shoulder.

That silver washer in the picture is the spacer and they are in the white.  Now the FH isn't a 4 prong FMBSC.

There are about a half-dozen different threads where your rifle would have been perfectly appropriate, no one is saying that it's a bad build, or that you shouldn't be proud of it, only that it's no appropriate for this thread.  You could post it in the Official AR Picture thread, the M4 thread, the EOTech thread, even the LaRue thread, etc.

Nevertheless, I was no only referring to you -

Often, when someone posts something inappropriate in the thread, we spend at least a half-page or so "calling people out," and arguing back and forth about what is or is not appropriate about a particular build/set of photographs, which I have now contributed to.

I have no desire to be the "forum police," and it's frustrating to me personally to see a bunch of new responses to the thread, only to see that they're a half-page of bickering for the thousandth time what is or is not "appropriate."

IMHO the best way to deal with "wrong" posts is to hit the "Report" button, let the moderators deal with it (not all "Reports" need to be about bannable or CoC violation posts) and let the site staff make the call - Lancelot manages the "clone" threads, and tends to be a pretty fair and reasonable guy, and has a good handle on "what is" and "what is not" according to the accepted conventions of the thread(s).  If the poster doesn't get any response, they'll usually get the point, and head elsewhere, having not gotten the desired response from the thread.

That's just my opinion, but IMHO, it might cut down on a lot of the "clone correct" back and forth -- which we seem to go through about once a month at a minimum, with the same posts, arguments, etc. very single time.

Opps, I had just woke up and hadn't had my coffee yet when I saw that. Up now and getting ready to go get some PT in.  Legs are still sore from running 12 miles this weekend.  Having that half centrury mark just around the corner sucks.

It's about time I pick back up on the running again. Thanks for the motivation CD! Enjoy your day in sunny Afghanistan, and take lots of M4A1 Block II/Mk 18/minigun/Mk 19/Mk16/M2/every other weapon of badassery in our US arsenal for us!

Got my FCG and one of each, a rectangular "mk 18" QR code, and a "square Colt" M4A1 QR code from asmig, as well as the ones Stealth made me. Got QR codes coming out my ears!

Just need to double check that the square one is correct for a block II M4A1, as well as the run of the mill M4A1, then im'a slap her on.

Finally got a clone correct FCG in this bitch, now if my taupe LMT would get here already, this bitch would be shining like a diamond in a goat's ass.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r13qHNKYC0w

M4A1 SOPMOD Block II clone doing what it should do.

"Own the night."

ATPIAL and AB Night Vision MOD-3.

Not visible are targets at 25m, 50m, and 100m.

Also not visible - and the reason that it's really not exactly the "best" run, is that my buddy and I were really more experimenting with how to take NV videos using nothing but monoculars and an iPhone -

Both these and the other video I posted were literally taken by moving the monocular as far forward on the helmet mount as possible (just was not stable enough trying to do it hand-held) - and putting an iPhone up to the ocular lens.  Needless to say, the screen was too close to see whether or not you were getting a good picture, but you could tell whether or not you had a green circle and if there was someone in the FOV.

The iPhone's autofocus took care of the rest - however, it has had me considering investing in an iPhone adapter, especially since I have a spare 4S that Verizon was going to give me pennies for when I upgraded.

Unfortunately, that night my phone died just about as soon as we figured out how to get passable videos, so the only ones I have are the three passable "test runs," and nothing terribly exciting, but it's still pretty cool to be able to get the NV video.

However, now that I've figured out how to get passable videos through NV, I should be able to post some more and some better ones in the future, but it seemed reasonable to put these up for Page 1,000!

Also just couldn't resist snapping a photograph with everything "on" before heading out to the range.

Cropping of the background is to obscure the disaster area that is currently my living room.

Rifle is loosely "based" on an "in the wild" photograph that was posted a while back, in and that pretty much all I did was swap out my painted SOPMOD for a black one, "just because," and the Redi-Mag.  Actually comes in handy hog hunting to carry an extra magazine, and not having to wear all the field gear besides the helmet.

Actually, a handful of us tried to figure it out what was right and what wasn't...and we couldn't.

So sticker away.

Just to blow ARFCOM cloners' collective minds:  some of our lowers have the (square) QR code in the middle of a circular sticker with the data in two arcs, one on top, the other on the bottom.

Just need to double check that the square one is correct for a block II M4A1, as well as the run of the mill M4A1, then im'a slap her on.

Finally got a clone correct FCG in this bitch, now if my taupe LMT would get here already, this bitch would be shining like a diamond in a goat's ass.

Pics please! Blurr the serials out tho

Dont think ive seen the square in a circle lable yet

Interesting. I think the USMC IUID's I saw were different. I just remember the ones I saw being taller than the Army's version, as well as the sqaure IUID's which look the same as the square Army version to me.

USAF does too.  My issue M4 has the circular sticker with the square QR in the middle with the data in two arcs (top and bottom).  I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

ETA:  Here ya go, best I could do as I didn't have a picture specifically of the magwell.

Sweet. I just dug up some pics of the one I'm talking about. It appears as though the data matrix is in the upper right hand corner on some of these.

I can't resize that shit, so if somebody can, please do. That's the USMC QR I'm referring to.

Is it bad if I want to make my first AR-15 a block II clone?  I had already decided on a DD M4A1, and I like a lot of the gear I see on the block II.
