Anyone have any more recent reference photos of marsoc cqbrs/mk18s with the cqd end plate? I know early on they used some DD ambi burnsed loops, and the most common seems to be standard end plates(though I’ve seen some with qd end plates), but curious if the cqd end plate is still in use or if it’s become mostly an NSW thing these days Attached File Attached File |

Regarding marsoc builds, besides the unobtanium insight wmx, surefire lights seem to be fairly common. Question is, what would be the correct model? I see multiple variations of the scout light, and my inclination would be the 600v in tan/fde, is this correct? Or is it another scout model? Thanks! |

Yeah, I don’t think a 12.5 would work. I had to cut a barrel to 13.2x to flush with a SF can on a RISII. I don’t think an NT4 would be far off from that.

Prototype upper is coming along nicely, snagged a 75th RR issued Cardinal forge upper off of Tacswap, just need to get a forward assist roll pin so I can get that installed. Gonna work on finding a barrel next, preferably a SOCOM but I'm pretty sure normal M4s were also being used around 2006 during the RIS II trials. Both the rail and rear sight were used in combat, an Air Force TACP unit bought a batch of these rails in the late 2000s and the rear sight is an actual BIS II test example used in the trials and later issued out on a service weapon, as it has the very early version of the rear apertures (the production ones had a much deeper notch on the top for CQB/long range use). These sights were actually made prior to the instruction manual interestingly, as the examples in that have the final production apertures. Had Daniel Defense submitted a carbine length handguard like A.R.M.S. and KAC, this is most likely what the Block II could have been.       |

They were using the model with the riser. |

| Somewhat odd question, does anyone happen to know what units were involved in the Block II testing circa 2005-07? I'd assume either Rangers, Green Berets, or SEALs given those were the main guys using Phased Replacement components around that timeframe. Want to know what sort of gear I should put together to go with the prototype build, or at the very least whether to get an M9 or a Mk 25 to pair with it |
