I have an upper that has the AAC M4-2000 fast attach flash hider on the barrel. I just got a SilencerCo Omega and I want to put on a the SilencerCo fast attach flash hider, but I have 2 HUGE problems. First the AR15 tool you use to take off all other flash hider like the A2 or any other one doesn't fit the flat part of the M4-2000 quick detach flash hider. Ive tried a wrench but the damn thing is ON there. I am pretty sure that it is on with Rocksett.

How the hell have you guys removed yours? Has anyone actually removed this exact flash hider I am speaking of? I need help bc this is my go to upper and I want to keep my new Omega on this upper so it will be ready for any situation esp home defense.

Im assuming you have the 51T mount. AAC makes a tool that slides into the prongs.

No it is not the t51 break, it is the original break for the original M4-2000. The one that came out before 2008.

The brake has wrench flats on the brake part itself. The flash hider versions have wrench flats on the back (I think the three prong used 7/8" wrench).
Just use a properly sized wrench and a cheater bar if needed. As mentioned above, if it's the three prong flash hider, AAC makes a tool to use the prongs themselves to unscrew the mount. No risk of the wrench slipping if they are on there tight.

Depending on who installed the muzzle device, it could be on there pretty tight and the rocksett won't help matters.
I put the barrel in a good barrel vise and just apply torque.
Others will soak the entire flash hider in water over night to help loosen up the rocksett (rocksett is water soluble)

Do not use a Reaction Rod or other chamber based barrel holding devices for the removal. If the muzzle device is on there tight enough, you'll risk unscrewing the barrel extension.
Depending on the length of barrel and handgaurds, you may have to remove the handguards and gas tube to put the barrel into the vise.

Once it's off, make sure to clean the threads on the barrel really well. Clean and degrease both the threads on the barrel and the new mount.
Apply a drop or two of rocksett onto the threads of the barrel and install the new muzzle device with manufactures recommended torque.

I will also confirm soaking in water should help.

Don't try using a torch to heat it.

Soak it in water, anchor the barrel (not the receiver) and give it some elbow grease with a wrench.
