Are there any advantages to having an M4 barrel instead of any other ar-15 barrel types?

You can add a gernade (yeah I know its spelled wrong) launcher

Except for looks, not really. Nothing wrong with a M4 barrel though. I am on this mid-length kick right now. Personally I like the balance and looks of the middy's.

+1 ON THE MID LENGTHS.

I recently built a RRA mid with a CTR.  The entire rifle is rock solid.  No stupid wiggle or play on anything.  Not even the handguards.

For a while I was on the M4 cut.  Great cause they are light weight.  I would prefer all M4 barrels to be 4150, but I do love the Stags.

The advantage I see in mine is that they are making a ton of them right now, so I was able to get one a hell of a lot faster than the 14.5 lightweight middy I have on order from CMMG.

Any idea how long it will take for CMMG to ship a barrel? I know they make them to order at the moment.
