I posted this in "Troubleshooting" as well, so forgive me if you're reading this twice.

I'm finally going to convert my A2 stock to a collapsible using the VLTOR Carbine Modstock Basic Pre-Ban Combo Kit.

What if anything do I need to be aware of as far as functioning issues and/ or reliability issues with the shorter stock?? Buffer spring length, buffer weight, extractor spring tension (doesn't the M4 use a different extractor bufffer?), buffer tube length etc.

Any common problems with the shorter stock that I need to be aware of, I.e., FTF, FTE etc.?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Make sure you're using a carbine spring and buffer.  You may want to go with an H buffer from the get go.  You might need it, you might not.  I wouldn't upgrade my extractor spring unless the one I had was well used.  If your extractor spring is still pretty new, try running it with the new stock.  If you begin experiencing extraction issues, upgrade to a Colt or Wolff HD extractor spring.  If you still have extraction issues, try the O-ring mod.   To the best of my knowledge, the different color extractor inserts are only for identification purposes, as the inserts themselves have the same hardness.

You should be fine, don't worry about it.
