I took a 4 day M4 class a while back and we were given what was called the Blackwater qualification course of fire. It started at 100 yards and had several elements. We ended up shooting 58 rounds from the M4 and 2 shots from a handgun. A perfect score was 300. You had someone timing you to make different shots from different positions in a certain amount of time. Has anyone ever heard of this course? Does anyone know what the particulars are? I can't remember all the times, # of rounds, and distances. Thanks. |

There are lots of different qualification courses.. and many are bastardized versions of other qual courses...I my self only know a few.. and this one is not one of them.. What most of these courses have in common is they incorporate many of the skills and techniques you learn and let you use them in a fluid and dynamic fashion over the course of 100 meters or so while under time where hits count. and anyone can be top dog on a qual course one day and completely pooch it the next day.. the ones to watch out for are the ones that consistently achieve a passing score every time they shoot it.. no excuses.. no "dust in my eye" no.. "it's my buddy's gun" just make ready.. timer goes off and you go.....
